The Burford Bulldogs winless stretch nearly ended Friday despite being outshot 77-54.

Unfortunately for the Provincial Junior Hockey League Doherty Division team, Austin Sine’s goal with six minutes left in regulation, gave the Woodstock Navy Vets a 4-3 win, ruining Cutis D’Orentzio masterpiece in the Bulldogs net.

Ethan Tollar and Mitch Randell gave the Bulldogs a first period lead after Warren Gorman opened the scoring.

The Navy Vets struck back in the second period thanks to goals from Dylan Wettlaufer and Sine, before Tyler Nagy tied things up midway through the third period.

The Bulldogs, now with a 1-17 record, host the Delhi Travellers Saturday at 8 p.m., before taking on the Paris Mounties Monday at 7:30 p.m.
