Panthers and Mustangs to play for BCSSAA girls hockey title

The Paris District High School Panthers will get another shot at the defending champion Brantford Collegiate Mustangs.

On Wednesday at the Wayne Gretzky sports Centre, Paige Cohoon put the puck in the net with three and a half minutes to go in overtime, to lead the Panthers to a 2-1 victory over the North Park Collegiate Trojans in the Brant County Secondary School Athletic Association girls hockey semifinals.

With the win, the Panthers will face the Mustangs, after they defeated the St. John’s Green Eagles 1-0.

Lindsay Kirkpatrick scored the other Panthers goal, while Rachel Miller netting the only Trojans response.

The BCSSAA girls hockey final takes place Wednesday at the WGSC at 3:30 p.m.

 

BOYS HOCKEY

The BCSSAA boys hockey playoffs begin Thursday afternoon.

In quarter-final action, the Trojans take on the Assumption College Lions at 3 p.m., while the Pauline Johnson Thunderbirds play the Panthers at 4 p.m.

Both games are at the WGSC.

The semifinals take place Tuesday, with the first-place Mustangs and second-place Green Eagles waiting for their respective opponents. The Green Eagles will play their opponent at 3 p.m., and the Mustangs face their’s  at 4 p.m.

The BCSSAA boys hockey final is February 28 at 3:30 p.m. at the WGSC.
