Avery Kadish has advanced to the final round of the Canadian National Exhibition Rising Star Talent Competition in the junior division.
Love is in the air for the Grand River Chorus.
The chorus will celebrate the season of love on Sunday, Feb. 17, with its Happy Valentine’s Day concert, beginning at 3 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church.
Made up of local singers from all walks of life, the chorus will sing songs of love from the stage and screen, including their own renditions of Blue Skies and Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
“We can always use a little more love in our lives,” said Grand River Chorus artistic director Richard Cunningham. “Come and let us lift you out of the ordinary.”
Anne Marie McDairmid will accompany the chorus and special guest Avery Kadish will lend her vocal talents to the show.
“Our third concert of the season offers an afternoon of music full of familiar love songs,” said Grand River Chorus president Jane Daw. “It will be a great opportunity for people new to the Grand River Chorus to come and enjoy this music.”
Tickets to Happy Valentine’s Day cost $25 for adults, $20 for students and seniors or $5 for children and high school students.
