Azalea heads to the Station

Brant News

Staff Report BRANT NEWS Azalea will bring more than you think to the table when the alternative country duo performs at the Brantford Station Gallery on Jan. 13. Using a “one-man band approach,” Benjamin Hackett and Mia Cioffi use live looping and frequent instrumental changes during their performances. The two will perform songs from their debut EP, Coffee and Kisses. The EP was released in 2010 and was nominated for recording of the year, rock recording of the year and instrumental of the year at the 2010 Durham Region Music Awards. Hackett and Cioffi wrote, produced, arranged, recorded and performed every instrument, except drums, on the album. The band has performed at clubs, festivals, restaurants and coffee houses across Ontario, Quebec and upstate New York. Azalea takes the stage in Brantford at 2 p.m. Visit www.azaleamusic.net for more information.
