BRANT NEWS

Singer-songwriters Ian Foster of St. John’s, Newfoundland, and Shawna Caspi of Toronto have teamed up for a southwestern Ontario tour that will bring them to Brantford on Sept. 16.

The duo will perform at the Brantford Station Gallery from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. as part of the Sunday Roots Revival concert series.

Foster has been writing, recording and touring Canada and Europe since 2006. He’s performed at concerts, festivals and conferences including  Music NL, the East Coast Music Awards, Junofest, NXNE and more. His music has been played on radio stations from Newfoundland to the Netherlands.

His latest release, The Evening Light, showcases stories he picked up while traveling.

Caspi has performed across Canada in a variety of venues, including cafes, theatres and the main stage at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto. She’s also performed on VIA Rail’s long haul train from Montreal to Halifax.

Caspi’s sophomore release, Skyline, showcases her unique storytelling and guitar style.

During the show, the pair will follow a song-swap format that will see them performing together in the style of a folk festival workshop that includes collaboration and encourages spontaneity.
