Fall fair fun in Burford

County of Brant residents will celebrate Thanksgiving weekend with some family fun when the Burford Fall Fair comes to town.

The fair, organized by the Burford Agricultural Society, runs Friday through Monday at the Burford Fairgrounds on Park Avenue.

The fair opens Friday at 5 p.m. for toonie ride night and the fair’s ambassador competition.

Numerous events are planned to entertain fairgoers between 2 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The Ontario Provincial Police Golden Helmets Precision Motorcycle Team will perform at 1 p.m.

Lawn tractor races take place at 2 p.m., tractor pulls begin at 3 p.m., and toilet bowl races take place at 4 p.m.
Free hot air balloon rides, provided by Remax, will be available beginning at 5 p.m.

The evening comes to a close with an eight-cylinder demolition derby at 6 p.m.

Sunday comes with a whole new roster of events set to entertain families from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Doo-Doo the Clown will entertain children at noon.

An antique tractor parade begins at 1 p.m., followed by a four-cylinder demolition derby at 3 p.m.

Thanksgiving dinner is served on Monday at 11:30 a.m. followed by a chain saw and crosscut competition at 2:30 p.m.

Exhibits, amusement games and rides, a beer tent, farm equipment displays, commercial vendors and a petting zoo run all weekend long.
