One of Canada’s hottest chefs is coming to Brantford.

Known as the “Renegade Cuisine Queen,” Lynn Crawford will meet fans, display her cooking skills and offer a private VIP cooking demonstration during the inaugural Grandelicious Food and Wine Show, running May 4 to May 6 at the Brantford and District Civic Centre.

Crawford is host of the Food Network show, Pitchin’ In, in which she flies around the globe to find the best and freshest ingredients. The former executive chef at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York has also appeared on Iron Chef America and Food Network’s Restaurant Makeover.

“She is at the top of her game right now,” said event co-organizer Jamie Stephens. “We heard some really great things about Lynn and how she puts on a good show. She is very approachable, very down-to-earth and we thought she would be great for Grandelicious.

“Bringing in somebody of Lynn Crawford’s calibre really puts the event and the City of Brantford on the map.”

The three-day show will feature more than 50 restaurants, wineries and breweries from across southwestern Ontario. Stephens and co-organizer Trevor Cherewka said they created Grandelicious to bring attention to the region and offer a food and wine show accessible to everyone.

“We wanted to provide everyone with the chance to taste the best of our region,” Cherewka said. “Brantford is the ideal location to bring together the best food and wine providers.”

Vendor booths are still available for local restaurants interested in participating.

Tickets to the Grandelicious Food and Wine Show cost $10 and will be available March 1. A limited number of VIP passes are available now for $99. VIP passes include a private cooking demonstration and meet and greet with Crawford, three-day entrance to the show, entrance to a VIP gala and access to a VIP lounge.
