A musical journey with Lighthouse

Sue Barrie
FOR BRANT NEWS

If you closed your eyes at the packed Sanderson Centre last Thursday night, you were transported back to the 1970s by Canadian rock-fusion band Lighthouse.

Lead singer Dan Clancy filled the late Bob McBride’s shoes to perfection and the other nine musicians on stage performed the comprehensive vocal harmonies Lighthouse is renowned for. Instrumental solos by several band members highlighted their musical skills.

Brantford-born Ray Materick opened the show with a 45-minute set mainly comprised of original gospel songs. He was backed by the four-piece band featured on his new CD, Home Sweet Home.

The concert was a fundraising event for Freedom House Church’s Kindness Project. For more information about the Kindness Project, visit www.freedomhouse.ca.
