The athletes at North Park Collegiate sure do know their badminton.
With the top two finishers in each division advancing to CWOSSA playoffs, Trojans captured 10 of the 20 spots available at last week’s Brant high school championships.
Senior and junior athletes will represent the school at CWOSSA, taking place this week at Conestoga College in Kitchener.
The provincial championships will be decided on May 3 and May 4 in Stratford.
Brant high school athletes moving on to CWOSSA include:
Senior
Boys singles – Tai Vo (PJC) and Harris Hassan (NPC).
Girls singles – Victoria VanSpronsen (ACS) and Reo Roland (NPC).
Boys doubles – Dustin Fenemore, Ameer Yusuf (NPC) and Chris Archi, Lukas McDowell (PJC).
Girls doubles – Elora Jones, Jackie Sless (BCI) and Laura Chapple, Victoria Logan (NPC).
Mixed doubles – Taylor Shipp, Meredith Pottruff (PDHS) and Jacob Lickers, Sara Rawls (NPC).
Junior
Boys singles – Austin Jones (BCI) and Alex Warren (PDHS).
Girls singles – Hattie Osborne (NPC) and Sarah Wu (ACS).
Boys doubles – Bryson Hall, William Liu (NPC) and Austin Thornborrow, Simon Rickwood (BCI).
Girls doubles – Rebecca Adkins, Abbey Johnston (NPC) and Rachel Hartley, Brittany McCaig (NPC).
