Six Nations
Rebels ready
for playoff run

Staff Report
BRANT NEWS

The Six Nations Rebels will open the Ontario Lacrosse Association Junior B playoffs on Friday at home against the Niagara Thunderhawks.

The Rebels closed the regular season with a 13-5 win over the St. Catharines Spartans to finish with an 18-2 record, tops in the west division. That set up a first-round playoff series with the eighth-seeded Thunderhawks.

Despite the disparity in the standings, the Rebels had some close games against the Thunderhawks this season. While they defeated Niagara all three times the teams met, the scores were 14-10, 6-5 and 17-11.

The Rebels are looking to defend the J.A. MacDonald Trophy as the OLA Junior B champions, as well as the Founders Cup as national Junior B champions.

Game one of the series against the Thunderhawks takes place Friday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena beginning at 8 p.m.
