Brantford Red Sox will play Game 3 of the Intercounty Baseball Championships against the Barrie Baycats on home turf Monday night.

The Brantford Red Sox carry a two-game lead in the Intercounty Baseball Championships on to home turf on Monday night.
After defeating the Barrie Baycats 5-4 on Thursday in Game 1 of the finals, the Sox managed a 5-1 victory in Barrie on Sunday night.
Mike Meyers turned in another gem on the mound on Sunday, allowing just five hits in a complete game victory.
The Red Sox used the long ball again, getting a two-run home run from Josh McCurdy to put them up 3-1 in the seventh and then a solo jack from Scott Thorman in the ninth to tack on some extra insurance.
Todd Betts drove in Thorman in the first inning and Alan Cattryse scored on a wild pitch in the ninth to account for the other Sox runs.
Monday’s Game 3 is scheduled for an 8 p.m. start time at Arnold Anderson Stadium.
Game 4 of the series is scheduled for Wednesday night in Barrie.
