Brantford Aquatic Club swimmers bring home bronze

Brantford Aquatic Club swimmers Tyson Macdonald and Alex Paulins both brought home a bronze medal from the Speedo Eastern Canadian Championships in Montreal on the weekend.

Macdonald finished third in the 1,500-metre freestyle for competitors 16 years of age and younger with a time of 15:59.18.

Paulins won bronze in the same event for competitors 17 years of age and over with a time of 15:47.02. Paulins’ time broke a long-standing Brantford Aquatic Club record.

Sebastien Paulins swam to a club record in both the 200-metre fly and 800-metre freestyle. Tanner Robinson swam a personal best in the 400-metre individual medley and the 800-metre freestyle.

Next up for the aquatic club is the Ontario Age Group Championships on the weekend of Feb. 28 in Ottawa.
