The Burford Bulldogs couldn’t get things going in an 8-0 loss to the Wellesley Applejacks on Sunday.
The loss puts the Bulldogs seven points back of the Applejacks for third place in the Southern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s McConnell Conference with just five games remaining in the season.
The Tavistock Braves are just two points back of the Bulldogs and the Delhi Travellers are four points back for coveted home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
This weekend will be big for Burford to maintain that advantage as they host the Travellers at the Burford Community Centre on Saturday at 8 p.m. and the Braves on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
