Offering thanks to
a tireless fundraiser

More than 400 people gathered on Robertson Avenue in Brantford on Sunday afternoon to celebrate an outstanding city resident.

The crowd – which included friends, neighbours, loc al politicians and even Canada’s favourite hockey dad, Walter Gretzky – gathered to pay tribute to Jim Walsh, who for the past 30 years has been raising funds for children’s charities.

In total, Walsh has raised more that $500,000 for organizations including Help a Child Smile, Camp Trillium and the Sunshine Foundation. (You can read more about Walsh in this week’s Brant News.)

As Sunday’s event proves, Walsh’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. We here at Brant News also want to take this opportunity to thank Walsh for all he does to help build community and assist those in need. He truly sets an example for all to follow.
