(RE: Hardy Road Ontario Municipal Board hearing begins next week, Oct. 11, 2012, Brant News.)
Regarding the Hardy Road development, don’t believe everything you hear from the citizens group spokesperson.
All the natural areas and the Davisville settlement that this person indicates will be bulldozed are not in jeopardy.
The main areas that will be turned into subdivisions are the small farm fields. The locals have also put up signs saying the community’s clean water will be affected, but there has been no explanation as to how this will happen.
Past city councils, as well as the current one, are destroying our community with their refusal to protect our natural environment – including with the implementation of the reckless waterfront master plan – but the community should not allow the Hardy Road development to break the bank.
The scare tactics from the Hardy Road citizens group have gotten out of hand with the latest article in the Brant News. Resources would be better served by concentrating on making sure the rest of the natural riverfront environment is protected.
