LETTER: Christmas lights a needed family tradition

Brant News

I think the neighbours of Jeff MacDonald should be ashamed of themselves. Some of my favorite memories with my family are driving around and looking at Christmas lights, not just as a child but with my own children. Family togetherness is something that we as a society really need right now. To create traditions within our town, as well as within our family, is a good thing, not something to be chastised for. Does the city define the amount of lights or the amount of houses on the street decorated that are allowed? I think there were other possibilities other than creating a bylaw to regulate something like Christmas decorations. Trying to find a parking spot at a mall can be pretty annoying during the holiday season. Is council going to try to “fix” that as well? That Santa guy might be to blame. Maybe you could do something about that. Kim Syme Brantford
