Police are seeking witnesses to an early morning assault in the parking lot of FreshCo at 50 Market St. S.
A 24-year-old woman walking in the area at about 2 a.m. suffered a serious head injury after being attacked by a man who was seen acting aggressively and banging on the windows of the grocery store, which was closed at the time.
The victim was taken to Brantford General Hospital for treatment.
The victim, who police say did not know her attacker, remains in hospital. The assailant remains at large and police are appealing to any witnesses or members of the public with information to come forward.
