Traffic stop leads to arrests for drug offences

A traffic stop in Brantford on Tuesday evening led to the arrest of two men for drug offences.

Brantford police officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Ava Road and Parkside Drive shortly before 8:30 p.m. The pair were suspected of being involved in the illegal drug trade.

The driver was found in possession of 0.3 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of $30. The passenger was found in possession of 2.4 grams of cocaine worth $240 and more than $1,200 in cash.

A 43-year-old Brantford man is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking, trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

A 30-year-old Toronto man is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking, trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of the proceeds of crime and breaching probation.
