Veterans will gather with friends and family at Assumption College on Nov. 3 for the annual Thank-A-Vet Luncheon, an event that gives veterans and their loved ones the chance to socialize and reminisce.

“It’s a day to honour them and say ‘thank you,’” said Liz Ferraccioli of the Thank-A-Vet Committee. “They are all so humble, but everyone remembers them and appreciates what they did.”

The luncheon is free for veterans, their spouses and widows. The cost is $30 for others.

The popular event attracts about 650 people and typically sells out. Doors open at 11 a.m.

“Veterans get to see each other, visit, reminisce,” said committee member Tracy Vanderwyk. “They can share their experiences with families and friends.”

Starting Oct. 9, tickets for the Thank-A-Vet Luncheon can be purchased at Your Neighbourhood Credit Union branches, on Charlotte Street and Fairview Drive in Brantford and Grand River Street North in Paris, or from Brant MPP Dave Levac’s constituency office at 96 Nelson St.
