St. George residents gathered to greet Santa Claus on Saturday.

Featuring about 30 floats, the St. George Santa Claus Parade brought joy, candy and a chance to see the jolly old elf himself.

Local real estate agent and lifelong St. George resident Willie Morley said he loves participating in the parade after years growing up watching it.

“It gets bigger every year,” Morley said. “There is actually livestock in the parade this year. There is a float with live sheep.”

The St. George United Church float featured a nativity display, including a pair of sheep.

The parade also included the St. George Firefighters Association, which invited spectators back to the village fire hall after the parade for hot chocolate and a chance to meet Santa.

“It’s great for the community, it’s great for the kids and it’s just a great night out for everybody,” Morley said.

Saturday was a busy night for Santa, who also took time to take part in Burford’s Santa Claus parade.
