A 15-year-old male is facing theft charges after Brantford police caught him driving a stolen vehicle on Monday morning.
Police say an officer attended an Oakville Drive address shortly before 8 a.m to investigate the theft of a Buick Century. The vehicle was stolen sometime overnight.
About an hour later, the same officer spotted the stolen vehicle being driven at Dalhousie Street and Brant Avenue. The officer witnessed a young male driving the car and pulled him over on Ballantyne Drive.
The 15-year-old driver was arrested.
Police say the vehicle suffered extensive damage. It was covered in mud and debris and had damage to its frame, side mirrors, windshield, tires and rims.
The 15-year-old is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, mischief to property under $5,000 and driving a motor vehicle without a licence.
