Open air fire ban lifted in County of Brant

Staff Report
BRANT NEWS

Much-needed rain that recently fell in the County of Brant has washed away a ban on open air fires – at least for now.

Residents can again enjoy summer cookouts and campfires after county fire Chief Paul Boissonneault revoked the ban.

Notification of burning approval permits and industrial burn permits are also reinstated, though still require fire department notification prior to burning.

The fire department urges all residents to be mindful of fire safety during all open air burns.

As the weather forecast is calling for continued high temperatures and limited rainfall during the next week, the ban may be reinstated should very dry conditions reappear.
