Helping fight breast cancer
Cancer survivor Sandy O’Rafferty and Canadian Cancer Society fundraising co-ordinator Lacey Kempinski pose with Brantford Blast players Scott Duncan, Mike Burgoyne, Chad Spurr and Ryan Healy to promote the Blast’s “Pink the Rink” initiative. A portion of all ticket sales from Friday’s home opener against the Welland Whalers will be donated to cancer research and fans are encouraged to wear pink clothing to the game. The Blast opened their season in Welland last Saturday with a 9-4 victory. Spurr had a hat trick to pace the offence.
