Health unit seeks artists for Youth Summit logo

Staff Report
BRANT NEWS

The Brant County Health Unit is looking for young artists to design the logo for its 2012 Youth Summit.

The summit, sponsored by the health unit, looks at how the tobacco and entertainment industries create illusory expectations of “the good life” in the minds of overwhelmed youth, who can feel like they are being pulled in many different directions.

Logos must capture the theme of the summit and must include the summit’s tagline, “It’s Time. Cut the Strings.” Artists can use digital or traditional media.

The logo contest is open to youth aged 13 to 18. Prizes include a session with a graphic designer, a free T-shirt, and a surprise. The winning logo will appear on all summit publicity and materials, and provide great exposure for the artist.

Submissions are due Sept. 14 and can be e-mailed to youth@bchu.org or mailed or hand delivered to the health unit at 194 Terrace Hill Street, Brantford, N3R 1G7. Submissions should be marked “Attention: Tobacco Program.”
