County of Brant firefighters rescued an injured Haldimand County man from his pick-up truck following a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday afternoon.
Brant OPP say the crash occurred at the intersection of Pleasant Ridge Road and Ellis Street shortly after 1:30 p.m.
A large delivery truck travelling eastbound on Ellis Street entered the intersection and struck a southbound pick-up truck, which was towing agricultural equipment, police say.
The impact forced the pick-up truck into the southwest ditch, where it came to rest with the delivery truck against the driver’s side door.
Firefighters used extrication equipment to remove a 28-year-old driver from the pick-up truck.
The man was taken to Hamilton Health Sciences for treatment of his injuries. He is listed in stable condition.
The 49-year-old male driver of the delivery truck was not injured in the crash.
The collision closed Ellis Street and Pleasant Ridge Road for several hours.
