Forged prescription leads to charges

Two women face numerous charges after trying to pass a forged prescription at a St. Paul Avenue pharmacy on Monday.

City police responded to a call and arrested a female suspect and another woman with her as they left the area.

Police say the women attempted to use identification that was stolen from a vehicle in Hamilton.

Investigators seized more than 40 copies of false prescriptions, more than $700 in cash and seven grams of marijuana .

A 24-year-old Shantz Avenue woman is charged with illegal possession of government identification documents, uttering a forged document, personation, possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of the proceeds of crime, possession of a controlled substance and breaching recognizance.

A 25-year-old Hamilton woman is charged with illegal possession of government identification documents, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of the proceeds of crime.
