Dalhousie Street man faces drug trafficking charges

A 22-year-old Brantford man is facing drug and stolen property charges after city police searched a Dalhousie Street apartment on Wednesday.

Police say the street crime unit began an investigation into the illicit drug trade shortly after 5 p.m.

A man observed at an apartment complex on Dalhousie Street was arrested and found to be in possession of 0.8 grams of cocaine with a street value of $80.

Officers searched an apartment and seized cash, stolen property and drugs.

Police found nearly six grams of ecstasy powder with a street value of $600, 13 grams of cocaine with a street value of $1,300, nearly 14 grams of crack cocaine worth $1,370, 27 Celexa pills valued at $270, 161 grams of marijuana worth $1,610 and more than $1,600 in cash.

A stolen licence plate was also located and seized.

A 22-year-old Dalhousie Street man is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, six counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime and possession of stolen property.
