The Community Resource Service food bank is still in need of donations with less than a week left in its Thanks4Giving Municipal Food Drive.
As of Friday, the food bank had collected 21,907 pounds of food, amounting to 87 per cent of it’s goal of 25,000 pounds.
“We are very happy to be so close to our goal,” Heather Vanner, executive director of the Community Resource Service said. “We need our community to give just a bit more to push us over the top.
“We are extremely close. We know there are businesses and companies still finishing up their food drives. We need individuals to make those donations as well, to help us reach 25,000 pounds.”
Donations can be dropped off at most local grocery stores, The Jewel 92 and the CRS food bank on Clarence Street.
The CRS is most in need of soups, canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, dry pasta, canned tomato sauce and cereal.
For more information, contact the CRS at 519-751-4357.
