City police investigate Friday shooting incidents

Staff Report
BRANT NEWS

Brantford police are investigating after two shooting incidents in the city on Friday.

Investigators say residents of Brantwood Park Road between Lynden Road and Lynden Hill Crescent reported hearing suspicious popping noises at about 3 a.m., but did not realize their homes had been shot at.

Police say in both cases, residents woke up to discover bullet holes in their homes.

Subsequent forensic examination determined the projectiles travelled through second storey bedrooms and up into drywall ceilings.

The homeowners were sleeping during the incidents and no injures were reported.

At about 3:45 a.m., officers attended the area of Dunsdon Street after another resident reported hearing what they believed to be three gunshots.

Officers searched the area on foot and in their cruisers but no suspicious people were located and no further gunshot noises were heard.

Police believe there are people in the community who have information that could assist in determining the identity of the people or person responsible for these incidents.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Kyle Barnes of the criminal investigation section at 519-756-0113 ext. 2286.
