Cats left abandoned at SPCA

Brant County SPCA manager of animal care Nadine Dwinnell holds three kittens found abandoned on SPCA property on Thursday. Staff found a four-week-old kitten in the front garden of the animal shelter and discovered two more later in the day. SPCA executive director Robin Kuchma said such incidents occur frequently. Instead of bringing animals into the shelter, people often drop them off on the property, or in close proximity to the shelter. The SPCA is currently offering reduced adoption fees. Kittens cost $100, dogs are $75 and adoption fees for adult cats are being waived. Animals are spayed, neutered, microchipped and have their first set of vaccinations.
