City of Brantford police bust marijuana grow-op

A 35-year-old Brantford woman is facing drug production charges after city police busted a marijuana grow-op on Tuesday morning.

Officers executed a search warrant at a Mintern Avenue residence shortly before 11 a.m. Police found and seized 109 mature marijuana plants growing in the basement, more than 28 ounces of dried pot and $1,300 in cash during the search.

The estimated street value of the plants and dried 
marijuana is more than $117,000.

A 35-year-old Mintern 
Avenue woman is charged with production of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and possession of the proceeds of crime.
