A 23-year-old Brantford man trying to set fire to a building under construction on Dalhousie Street ended up in police custody after he was found near the building with burn injuries on his face and right arm.

Officers responded to the fire call at about 1 a.m. on Tuesday and arrested the Dalhousie Street man after he received medical attention for non-life threatening injuries.

The accused is charged with arson, break and enter, mischief and breach of probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
