A 21-year-old man is facing child pornography charges after Brantford police executed a search warrant at a West Street residence on Wednesday afternoon.

City vice unit officers and Ontario Provincial Police searched the home at about noon, seized computer equipment and arrested the suspect.

Trevor Joseph Brant, 21, of West Street, is charged with two counts of possessing child pornography, importing and distributing child pornography and accessing child pornography.

Brant was held in custody for a bail hearing and the investigation is continuing.

The Brantford Police Service is an active member of the provincial strategy to protect children from sexual abuse and exploitation on the internet.
