Brantford house fire sends man to hospital

One person was sent to hospital after a house fire in Brantford on Sunday evening.

The man was rescued from a home on Forest Road after fire crews responded to a call around 7:30 p.m.

He was the only one home at the time.

The fire department says the man was taken to Brantford General Hospital before being transferred to Hamilton for treatment, although they could not comment on the extent of his injuries.

There is no word yet on what caused the blaze, but the Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating.

Brantford fire says damages have been estimated at $150,000 to $200,000.
