Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre is looking to the community to help raise 1,000 pounds of food.
The Brant Avenue funeral centre will launch its inaugural food drive on Thursday, Nov. 1, collecting non-perishable food items for the Community Resource Service food bank.
“Beckett-Glaves has a longstanding history of reaching out to the community,” said funeral director Joseph Suppa. “As a family run business and pillar of the community, it’s important for us to support the community.”
Community members are invited to drop off non-perishable food items at the funeral home, located at 88 Brant Ave., between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. seven days a week until Nov. 28.
Beckett-Glaves will match all food donations up to the 1,000 pound goal, for a total of 2,000 pounds donated. The food will be presented to Community Resource Service at 1100 Clarence St. on Nov. 30 at 3:30 p.m.
Visit the Beckett-Glaves Facebook page for regular updates on the food drive.
