The Stedman Community Hospice Angels of Christmas Campaign helps pay for hospice programs and services.

St. Joseph’s Lifecare Foundation’s Angels of Christmas Campaign for Stedman Community Hospice is back and this year funds are needed more than ever.
“This campaign is critical to the ongoing operations of the hospice,” said Olga Consorti, CEO of the foundation. “Typically, donations raised through the Angels of Christmas Campaign fund the programs of the hospice so that we don’t have to charge our patients with a bill to use our services.
“However, this year we are asking people if they would consider digging a little deeper to also support the construction of the new 10-bed hospice we are building on the grounds of St. Joe’s.”
The foundation requires $5 million for construction of the new hospice.
For a donation of $132.38 or more, a 2012 keepsake angel ornament will be sent as a token of thanks and appreciation.
“If we do not meet our funding goals for the programs, or to build a new hospice, the only other alternative that we would have to look at is to cut some programs or charge patients for hospice services. Neither option is something we would like to consider.”
Donations can be made in honour of a friend or loved one. Cheques can be made payable to St. Joseph’s Lifecare Foundation. Donations can also be made via telephone at 519-751-7096 ext. 2475 or online at www.sjlc.ca.
