Actors sought for 1812 documentary

Staff Report
BRANT NEWS

The Ontario Heritage Project is looking for local actors, re-enactors and extras to take part in a War of 1812 documentary.

Scenes of American raids on horseback and the last battle against a foreign power on Canadian soil will be re-enacted for A Desert Between Us and Them: Raiders, Traitors and Refugees in the War of 1812.

The documentary will highlight the effect the War of 1812 had on southwestern Ontario, with a focus on what life was like during the time period. The three-part series is being produced by Living History Multimedia Association. Producers are looking to cast Tecumseh, Sir Isaac Brock, Colonel Talbot and Andrew Westbrook, along with more than 50 other roles.

No experience is necessary. A commitment of one day is all that is required for most roles. Costumes, meals and refreshments will be provided. Volunteers will receive a complimentary copy of the project on DVD. Honorariums will be provided to trained re-enactors who provide their own costumes.

E-mail Yvonne Drebert at yvonne@visualheritage.ca for more information and an audition time.
