Brantford police are warning parents to be aware after an unknown man approached a 13-year-old boy on Sept. 19.
The boy was walking on Stanley Street toward Elgin Street when a male operating a white cargo van with tinted windows approached him.
The man asked the boy if he wanted some candy.
The driver is described as a white male in his early 40s with black spiky hair, blue eyes and a clean-shaven face. He was described as wearing a baby blue baseball cap with mesh sides and a dark green short-sleeved T-shirt.
No threats were made during the interaction, but the man allegedly became angry after being ignored by the boy.
Brantford police encourage parents to have their children walk in groups and stay in well-travelled public areas.
