A man caught driving a stolen vehicle also faces charges from the robbery of a Brantford variety store.

On Tuesday at 11:25 p.m., Brantford police officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Victoria Street. An investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier in the day.

The officers later stopped a man seen driving away in the vehicle and arrested him on a charge of being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

Facing charges of robbery with a weapon, disguising self with intent to commit a crime, assault with a weapon, possession of stolen property and possession of break-in instruments is Shawn Joseph Farmer, 22, of Brantford.

He was held for a bail hearing.
