Two men face drug trafficking, stolen property charges
Two men are facing charges after Brantford police seized drugs and stolen property from two locations in the city on Monday.
Officers with the street crime unit arrested two men shortly after 3 p.m. as they exited a garage on Paris Road. Several stolen items were found and seized from the garage.
Police then executed a search warrant at a Stanley Street townhouse.
Officers seized nearly 27 grams of cocaine with a street value of $2,670, 180 grams of marijuana worth $1,800 and more than $1,000 in cash as the proceeds of crime.
Police also seized a stolen Nikon camera, a lens and a Dell computer. The value of those stolen goods is estimated at $4,000.
The street crime unit also executed a second search warrant at the Paris Road garage.
Police seized a trailer, a riding lawn mower, a compressor, a new furnace, an air conditioner, a Honda motocross bike and several high-end bicycles. Numerous industrial tools, drills and construction equipment were also seized by police. The estimated value of that stolen property is between $50,000 and $60,000.
Some recovered property, taken during a residential break and enter, has been returned to its owner.
A 45-year-old Stanley Street man is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking, marijuana, possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking, cocaine, possession of the proceeds of crime, two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
A 19-year-old Hamilton man is charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000.
