Two Brantford residents face drug trafficking charges
A Brantford man and woman are facing drug trafficking charges after city police executed a search warrant at a Waterloo Street residence during the early morning hours on Thursday.
Brantford police say the street crime unit began an investigation into the trafficking of narcotics on Wednesday evening at about 7 p.m. Officers stopped a vehicle involved in the investigation at 8:15 p.m. and arrested the driver.
Police executed a search warrant at a Waterloo Street address shortly before 1 a.m. on Thursday and arrested a woman inside the home.
Officers seized 20 grams of cocaine with a street value of $2,000 and three grams of marijuana worth $30. A video camera and more than $600 in cash were also seized by police.
A 29-year-old Waterloo Street woman and a 29-year-old Henry Street man are each charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking, cocaine, trafficking in a controlled substance, cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, and possession of the proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
