Two women facing firearms charges
Two women are facing firearms and theft charges after Brantford police recovered two stolen rifles during a search of an Uplands Drive residence on Wednesday.
Police say a Harold Avenue home was broken into between Feb. 2 and Feb. 3. Two rifles, ammunition, a laptop computer and a snowboard were stolen from the residence.
An investigation led officers to execute a search warrant at an Uplands Drive home.
A .22 calibre semi-automatic rifle, a .22 calibre rifle and a snowboard were recovered during the search. A laptop computer was recovered earlier in the day at a local electronics store. Stolen ammunition was not recovered.
A 21-year-old Uplands Drive woman is charged with two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited, break, enter and commit theft, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and breaching probation.
