Brantford police investigate string of auto thefts

Staff Report BRANT NEWS Four vehicles were reported stolen to Brantford police between Saturday and Monday. Police say a 1999 Dodge Dakota truck was reported stolen from Brant Avenue sometime overnight on Saturday. A 2004 Chevrolet Impala was reported stolen from North Park Street sometime between Sunday at 3:30 p.m. and Monday at 4:30 a.m. A 2003 Chevrolet Malibu was reported stolen from Memorial Drive between Sunday at noon and Monday at 8:45 a.m. A red 2004 GMC Envoy was reported stolen from Fairview Drive between 4:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Monday. Two vehicles were also broken into on Hayhurst Road on Sunday and Monday. Anyone with information about vehicle thefts in the city is asked to contact the Brantford police auto theft unit at 519-756-0113 ext. 2247. Information about vehicle break-ins and thefts from vehicles should be reported to the street crime unit at extension 2286.
