Update: 23-year-old Brantford man killed in collision

Brant News

Staff Report BRANT NEWS A 23-year-old Brantford man is dead following a collision between a motorcycle and pick-up truck in the city on Tuesday afternoon. Jack Jeffery Prokipczuk
died of his injuries at Brantford General Hospital following the accident, which occurred at the intersection of Dundas and High streets at 2:30 p.m. Police say Prokipczuk was riding a motorcycle westbound on Dundas Street when he collided with the pick-up truck, which was travelling eastbound. The driver of the truck was uninjured. Police say excessive speed is believed to have been a factor in the collision. Investigators say no charges are expected to be laid in relation to the accident. Tom Wyatt, 22, was walking his bicycle on Dundas Street when he witnessed the collision. “I heard an engine rev,” Wyatt said. “I saw the (motorcyclist) pop a wheelie about halfway up the hill. “He was going really fast. I ran up the hill to see what happened and he was laying on the road, his right leg looked broken, his coat was over his head.” Police are appealing to witnesses for assistance with their investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Const. Geoff Slote at 519-756-0113 ext. 2213.
