Catholic school board names director of education

Brant News

Staff Report BRANT NEWS Chris Roehrig has been named the new director of education for the Brant-Haldimand-Norfolk Catholic District School Board. The former superintendent of education takes over the role from retiring director Cathy Horgan, who served in the position since 2007. “Chris has a diverse background, including management experience from both an educational setting and private sector, is passionate about Catholic education and has earned a reputation as an innovative leader,” said board chair Cliff Casey. Roehrig spent the past four years as superintendent of education in charge of secondary schools, curriculum and program services for Grade 1 through Grade 12, EQAO, academic staffing, leadership development, assessment and evaluation, as well as academic information technology and eLearning. Before that, he served for seven years as an administrator with the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board. “I am humbled by the faith that the board has placed in my leadership," Roehrig said. "It is a great honour to serve this Catholic school community."
