Holy Mackinaw...... this is the equivalent or greater then we offer our seniors at LTC farms.

I'm consoled by the fact we treat cows better then our elderly.........

Bill wrote:   Refusal to face the facts tells us a lot about you Nikki, and how much you care about these animals. A rodeo animal has a cruel life whether they eat or not. They have their feet done for their specified purpose, not so they look pretty. What about the early extinguishing of the animals compared to a better cared for animal. What about the lameness of the horses in the barrel race for instance. Don't most of those horses have to be put down before their time? These animals are used for and abused for entertainment value only, not for the value of their existences. Charities should not raise funds by harming others, whether human or animal. And no one should get their jollies from watching animals suffer.

BOB wrote:   Obviously Bill you are uneducated in the topic in which are speaking about, perhaps you should seek some correct information before making comments on the topic! These animals are athletes no different than a human athlete these animals have great amounts of money spent on them and are cared for better than most people care for themselves. In this day and age show horses are retired to pasture the same as human athletes retire from thier sports events. Most of the show horses that retire today , retire to raise off spring and live out the remainder of thier lives doing the natural thing as so many call it! Because of the excellet care these these horse recieve in thier early years we are seeing retired show horses live to ages ranging from 25 to 32. Which if you where an educated person would know that is almost double what it used to be. People who have show horses take better care of thier horses than most back yard horse owners.
