BRANT NEWS

Lukas McDowall is a sixteen year old grade 11 student from Pauline Johnson CVS who has been involved in a variety of sports including hockey, bowling, baseball, volleyball, badminton and javelin.

He played house league hockey with the Brantford Church Hockey League from 2000-2006.

He was a member of Brantford Minor Baseball house league in 2007 and 2008 then made the Bantam rep team, and is currently in his 4th season of rep ball, now playing with the Tier 1 Midget Red Sox.

Lukas was involved with the Youth Bowling Council at Echo Bowl Brantford from 1998-2011, he was a National Bronze Medal winner in 2006, a National Gold Medal winner in 2008 and 2009, as well as earning many other awards over the years including High Average. 

He has been on the volleyball, baseball, badminton, and javelin throwing teams all 3 years at Pauline Johnson.

In 2011 he went to OFSAA West Regionals for javelin, he won the 2009-2010 MVP Badminton award; the 2010-2011 Volleyball MVP award (junior team) and won the Robert Freeman Memorial Award in 2010-2011.

His volunteer work includes two years with the Boyle Plumbing Braves Baseball Camp, the Brantford Minor Baseball tournament, and the Pauline Johnson Assistant Coach to the junior girls volleyball team in 2010-2011 and the senior girls volleyball team in 2011-2012.

Lukas maintains a good average at school and is applying to the Canadian Coast Guard College in Nova Scotia upon graduation from high school.
