Dylan Szczur is a ten year old grade 5 student from Our Lady of Providence School who has been actively involved in several sports.
He played with the Brantford Bisons Football Club for 6 years, Brantford CYO Basketball for 6 years; Brantford Youth Soccer for 5 years, and the Brantford Little Rocks Curling at the Brantford Golf and Country Club for 4 years.
He has won team MVP honours in basketball three times and twice as the defensive MVP for his football teams. He also participates on his school’s running club, track and field, indoor soccer, and cross country.
Dylan loves to be involved at school and has been his class faith ambassador in the past. He has also been involved in fundraising at school through Jump Rope for Heart, The Hoop A Thon to raise money for the YMCA Summer camps, and the Feed the Children fundraiser.
He participated in the Brantford Rotary Classic, which he has now participated in twice with his school. This year he improved his time in the 5KM run by over 2 minutes.
Dylan is a strong student and his favourite subjects are math, French and gym. He also enjoys public speaking.
He wants to continue improving at football, with dreams of playing in the NFL one day. His backup plan is to finish University with a teaching degree and possibly become a high school gym teacher.
Dylan loves to show his younger cousins how to play football and other sports. He looks forward to the time when he is old enough to help coach younger kids entering the Brantford Bison’s organization.
Congratulations Dylan and good luck.
